The telenovela star faces serious charges that could strip him of bail rights—what really happened in Florida?
The renowned actor William Levy, known for his roles in Televisa productions such as Sortilegio and more recently on Netflix’s Café con Aroma de Mujer, is once again at the center of controversy after being arrested in the state of Florida, USA. The charges against him have been made public—and he may not be eligible for bail.
According to the arrest records from Broward County, the Cuban-born telenovela star was detained on Monday, April 14, accused of multiple offenses related to his behavior in a public space and unauthorized entry onto private property.
Official records show that the actor is facing two main charges. The first is for disorderly intoxication in a public place, a charge applied when a person, under the influence of substances like alcohol, disrupts public order or endangers themselves or others.
The second charge is for trespassing on an occupied property, meaning Levy allegedly entered or remained on someone’s property without the owner’s or resident’s consent.
Entertainment journalist Javier Ceriani, based in Miami, reported that due to substances found in the actor’s system, Levy may be ineligible for bail. Although specific details about the substances have not been disclosed, this development could further complicate the actor’s legal situation.
This is not William Levy’s first encounter with the law. As recalled by Infobae, in October 2023, the actor was involved in an altercation at his home following an argument with his then-partner, Elizabeth Gutiérrez. The incident happened after a night of partying in which Levy allegedly consumed excessive alcohol, leading to a heated verbal dispute. Authorities responded, but no physical altercations were reported.
Months later, in January 2024, another incident involving the couple surfaced. Reports indicated that Gutiérrez sought refuge following an episode in which Levy displayed aggressive behavior upon arriving at their residence. While these past events did not lead to formal charges, they reveal a pattern of personal conflict.
Following Levy’s arrest, the news quickly went viral on social media, with his mugshot circulating online. The image sparked a wave of reactions from fans and critics alike, dividing public opinion about the actor’s conduct.
