On January 9, reports emerged that flyers were dropped targeting a group of musicians and content creators—including Peso Pluma and Markitos Toys—due to their alleged ties to the “Los Chapitos” faction in the state of Sinaloa.
According to reports on social media, the flyers were dropped from light aircraft on Thursday afternoon over various locations in the municipality of Culiacán.
“Los Sapitos Cartel. Do you know them? Report them,” the flyers state.
The message not only calls on the public to report the individuals named but also warns of their alleged activities linked to one of the factions of the Sinaloa Cartel.
The black-and-white flyers feature the faces and names of 25 public figures, noting that four of them have already been “eliminated.”
“These people are major financiers and very close collaborators of the scum; we are coming for each and every one of you,” the flyer reads.
Furthermore, the public is urged to stay away from “these YouTubers” and stop supporting their content because they finance “Los Sapitos.”
The flyer accuses 25 individuals of being “arrogant, frontmen, bullies, delusional show-offs, violent, financiers, close collaborators, and money launderers.” Notable names include Peso Pluma, Roberto Tapia, Fidel Castro, and the YouTuber Markitos Toys, who has recently been targeted by armed groups.
The list also includes individuals associated with Markitos Toys, such as his siblings Gail, Kevin, and Mayve Castro, as well as other content creators who are part of the “Toys” group.
