Elements of the Michoacán State Police (SSP) and Federal Forces arrested Óscar “El Pelón,” 39 years old and a native of Uruapan, Michoacán, identified as the hitman leader for the Knights Templar criminal group. The detainee was a target of interest due to his role within the operational structure of said criminal organization in the region.
During the tactical operation, security forces seized the following weapons and tactical equipment:
One long gun
One handgun
One bulletproof vest
Six loaded magazines
Both the detainee and the seized weapons and equipment were transferred and placed at the disposal of the corresponding ministerial authority. This body is responsible for compiling the investigation file and determining the corresponding crimes related to the possession of the exclusive equipment and associated criminal activities.
