On the night of June 19, the Chihuahua State Public Security Secretariat (SSPE) arrested Nicolás P. V.—alias “El Nico” or “El Comandante Nico”—in Ciudad Juárez. The 26-year-old was identified by the agency as an alleged criminal leader and a source of violence in the El Valle de Juárez area. At the time of his arrest, he was traveling in a black Audi with Texas license plates, accompanied by two women from El Paso; officers seized six long guns, loaded magazines, and ammunition restricted to military use.
The seizure included five .223-caliber rifles and one 7.62x39mm long gun—popularly known as a “cuerno de chivo” (goat’s horn/AK-47). Fully loaded magazines, live ammunition, and the high-end vehicle in which the detainees were traveling were also confiscated.
The operation took place at the intersection of Gómez Morín Boulevard and Faraday Street in the Partido Senecú neighborhood. Police carried out the action on Friday night, intercepting the vehicle in which the alleged criminal operative was traveling.
Along with Nicolás P. V., authorities arrested Iraís R. A. (35) and Anabel C. (20), both natives of El Paso, Texas. All three were placed at the disposal of the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office so their legal status could be determined.
The State Public Security Secretariat had designated “El Nico” a priority target. The agency identified him as a key operational figure in a criminal group that had been terrorizing the El Valle de Juárez area.
