Videos circulating on social media appear to show Juan Pablo Penilla—a lawyer for Ismael ‘El Mayo’ Zambada—getting into a verbal altercation with a group of workers at the Karisma restaurant in Polanco, Mexico City.
The dispute reportedly erupted after he was allegedly not assigned a table he had reserved. In the footage posted online, the man is seen shouting and attempting to strike the establishment’s employees.
“Don’t touch me, asshole. Don’t you dare touch me, asshole. You don’t know who I am,” he is heard saying while another person tries to restrain him.
A witness began calling for a police patrol as the restaurant’s security staff moved him away from the area.
In addition to serving as legal counsel for Zambada García, Penilla is known for having represented Miguel Ángel Treviño Morales (alias ‘Z-40’) and for having been sanctioned by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, according to *El Financiero*.
