Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernández spoke publicly about his divorce from Sarah Kohan for the first time since their separation five years ago.
The striker chose his own podcast, *Learning to be Human*, as the platform to address the personal and family circumstances surrounding the end of his marriage and how, following that process, he has rethought his views on fatherhood and relationships.
During a conversation with entrepreneur Eleni Fafutis, Hernández explained that the decision to separate was made with the aim of prioritizing his children’s well-being.
The footballer noted that, although the experience was personally and emotionally difficult, both parents eventually sought to build a new family dynamic and learn from the experience.
The Mexican national team striker acknowledged that the separation process led him to question his own role as a husband and father:
“I wasn’t being masculine enough to hold that family together, and I think she also needed to be much more feminine,” Hernández said in the episode.
