Zafar Padamsee Mawani, 56, and Guillermo Jaffet Hidalgo Ortiz, 57, are a couple and Mexican-American citizens. They disappeared on May 20, 2026, in the Isidro Fabela neighborhood, within the Tlalpan borough in southern Mexico City.
According to information obtained by Nmás, the couple left Huixquilucan, State of Mexico, that day to visit an elevator company regarding an installation project for their home; they were scheduled to return that Tuesday to follow up on the project.
Upon reaching the meeting point, they sent their location to a friend; however, both of their cellphones were subsequently switched off, and nothing further has been heard from them.
The Mexico City Attorney General’s Office (FGJCDMX) issued missing persons alerts on May 23. Their close associates have also requested that the case be formally reported to the U.S. Embassy.
