On the afternoon of February 20, 2026, Senator Andrea Chávez of the Morena party announced she is pregnant. “Emil and I will face together the most important challenge of our lives,” she wrote in a lengthy message on her social media account.
“Dark clouds are gathering over the world we live in: wars, climate crises, and injustices threaten a dignified humanity that dreams of the right to live in peace,” the Morena senator began her post.
In the post, she shared a picture with her fiancé, jewelry entrepreneur Emil Kamar, holding the ultrasound confirming the pregnancy:
“With my heart overflowing with joy, and with emotions running high, I share with you that Emil and I will face together the most important challenge of our lives, caring for, nurturing, and raising our child, who is on the way today, and who has already fundamentally transformed, even before birth, the way we love and the way we see the world.”
