Federal authorities in Puebla arrested a man identified as Jesús Alberto “N,” alleging he was one of the individuals who carried out the murder of content creator César Gastélum—better known on social media as “Cesarín.” Gastélum was killed on August 4 in Culiacán, Sinaloa, outside a fast-food restaurant located just meters from the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE).
Omar García Harfuch, head of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), announced via his “X” account that “following the investigation into the murder of content creator César Daniel Nolazco Gastélum, and through intelligence and investigative work by the National Intelligence Center, authorities were able to identify and locate Jesús Alberto ‘N’ in Puebla; he is identified as one of the two individuals who shot the victim.”
The content creator was attacked by two men on a motorcycle while conducting a live stream on the platform Kick.
However, the federal official reported that “during an operation carried out this Wednesday, investigative agents from @SSPCMexico were attacked by three armed individuals. Faced with the assault, our colleagues acted with courage and determination to safeguard the safety of the other members of the operational convoy. One of the attackers lost his life, and two were arrested, including Jesús Alberto.”
Three firearms, ammunition, and vehicles were seized at the scene. Investigations are ongoing to apprehend all those responsible. There will be no impunity, García Harfuch stated
