After nearly two weeks of uncertainty for the families and friends of three students who disappeared in Puerto Vallarta, the Jalisco State Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that the young people, who had been missing since June 25, were found alive and in good health.

The case had generated concern because the students lost contact with their families after last being seen in the town of El Zancudo, a community located in the municipality of Puerto Vallarta. Since then, authorities activated search protocols to try to locate them as soon as possible.

According to official information, the missing persons report was filed after family members lost contact with the three young people and were completely unaware of their whereabouts.

After receiving the report, the Prosecutor’s Office initiated the procedures for this type of case, including investigative work, interviews, searches of various locations in Puerto Vallarta, and the collection of information to reconstruct the students’ last movements.

These efforts were coordinated by the Deputy Prosecutor’s Office for Missing Persons, which maintained several lines of investigation open during the days the students were missing.

As part of the investigation, law enforcement agents conducted operations in various areas where there were indications the young men might have been. Authorities also analyzed information obtained during the investigation and followed up on several phone calls received by the students’ families.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, these contacts provided relevant information that allowed them to focus the search efforts on a new line of investigation. With this information, they were able to move forward and determine the location where the students were ultimately found.
