Canadian Man Shot Dead Inside His RV in El Quelite, Mazatlán

A Canadian man was shot and killed inside the mobile home where he had been living for years in the El Quelite district of Mazatlán.

Local residents reported hearing gunshots at 10:55 p.m. on Saturday, August 8, pointing to the area along the road to El Chapotal.

According to accounts, the victim had just returned from a trip and discovered upon entering his RV that it had been broken into.

He reportedly went to confront the alleged intruder, threatening to report him to the authorities. The suspect apparently returned to the camper and shot the man multiple times, killing him.

Following reports of gunfire, municipal police arrived at the scene and found the foreign resident dead; they cordoned off the area and notified forensic personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office.

The deceased was identified by locals as Rafael “N,” approximately 65 years of age.
