Local authorities identified the bodies of two men found lifeless by the side of the road in the municipality of Guadalupe y Calvo, Chihuahua. The victims were identified as Christian pastor Miguel Valenzuela, aged 40–45, and his father, Ángel Valenzuela, aged 60–65.
The discovery was made this Monday afternoon on the stretch of road connecting the community of El Ocote to the municipal seat.
According to unofficial reports, the two men—natives of the community of Yerbitas—were traveling in a pickup truck toward the municipal seat of Guadalupe y Calvo when they were intercepted by a group of hitmen.
The assailants forced the victims out of the vehicle and executed them beside the roadway before fleeing the scene.
Hours after the discovery, family members appeared before the authorities to formally identify the bodies.
As of now, the State Attorney General’s Office has not released information regarding any arrests, nor has it specified the lines of investigation to determine the motive behind the double homicide. Investigative agents and forensic experts continue to collect evidence at the scene to compile the case file.
