After the Sinaloa Public Security Secretariat (SSP) announced the arrest of a high-priority target in Escuinapa on June 25—without providing specific details regarding his identity—reports began circulating that the individual was Misael Guerrero Pérez, alias “El Güero Pin,” an alleged regional boss for the “Los Chapitos” faction of the Sinaloa Cartel.

These speculations were confirmed when his record was uploaded to the National Detention Registry, describing him as a male of slender build and fair complexion, with short black hair, a patchy beard, and bullet shrapnel in his right arm.

Also notable were reports that Hilario Javier Martínez Gómez—Escuinapa’s former security chief—was arrested alongside Guerrero Pérez; local media had unofficially identified him as Guerrero Pérez’s bodyguard. His registry entry described him as a man of average build, dark complexion, and short black hair, wearing a green polo shirt, navy blue jeans, and black tactical boots.

Both men were listed with a status of “in transit,” and it was noted that both were captured at 9:55 a.m. The records provided no further details, such as the exact location of the arrest or known aliases.

As of now, no photographs of “El Güero Pin” or the other detainees in official custody have been released.
