In the early hours of June 25, Antonio “N”—the former mayor of Ayala, Morelos—was taken into custody. His arrest was confirmed via the National Detention Registry (RND). Initial reports indicate that the arrest stemmed from the man’s alleged links to organized crime.
Following the arrest of the two individuals, Secretary of Government Edgar Maldonado Ceballos was asked about the operation; the official responded by expressing support for the enforcement actions.
“The state executive branch acknowledges the work of security institutions—including the Federal Security Cabinet and state-level agencies,” he stated to the media.
The official added that state authorities would continue to support activities that contribute to the state’s stability.
