Customers who placed deposits for the Trump Mobile T1 phone say they are still waiting nearly a year later, raising questions about refunds, product delivery, and consumer protections. The controversy could resonate in California, where Latino families are often targeted by aggressive marketing and prepaid phone promotions.
The Trump Mobile project is facing fresh criticism after hundreds of thousands of people who reserved the T1 phone with $100 deposits still have not received the device, while the company has quietly modified its terms and conditions.
The gold-colored phone was announced in 2025 by Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump as a “Made in America” alternative to brands like Apple and Samsung. However, nearly a year later, there is no clear launch date, and several buyers claim they have been unable to recover their money either.
Around 600,000 people paid $100 deposits for the Trump-branded T1 phone, but not a single device has shipped despite multiple promised delivery dates.
Trump Mobile has now updated its terms to say there’s no guarantee the phone will ever be made or sold.
Specialized media outlets reported that the company removed references to the device’s U.S. manufacturing from its website and also deleted estimated delivery dates. Furthermore, new legal clauses state that paying the deposit “does not guarantee” that the phone will ever be produced or shipped.
According to estimates cited by various news outlets, around 590,000 people reportedly paid the upfront deposit, raising nearly $60 million for the project. As of May 2026, no customers have received the device.
The situation has sparked anger even among Donald Trump’s supporters on social media and tech forums, where users are complaining about delays, a lack of information, and constant changes to the device’s specifications.
Several MAGA supporters are expressing their frustration online, posting videos to ask where their phones are. “Hey, I’m a Trump supporter. This goes out to Don Jr. and Eric. Where the hell is my phone?” asked one person on TikTok.
The man said he ordered four Trump phones over the summer and even encouraged his son to do the same. “Now we can’t get any information about them!”
