Judge Brian Cogan denied all requests made by Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán in a letter, including his petition to be extradited to Mexico.

Cogan’s response was shared on social media by journalist Keegan Hamilton. The document—dated May 4 and signed by the judge—states that over the past two weeks:

El Chapo has submitted a total of five letters requesting the following measures:

An order for release, and an appeal of the case seeking a new trial;

Extradition and release to his country of origin;

A request for documents regarding how the jury reached its verdict during his trial;

A declaration of wrongful conviction.

“Some of these documents are nonsensical, and none have any legal basis. Consequently, all requests are denied,” the document notes.
