This morning, the detention of ten alleged members of a criminal cell was announced. Among those detained were the right-hand man and the financial operator of Aureliano Guzmán Loera—known as “El Guano,” the most-wanted brother of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán—in the village of La Cebadilla, within the municipality of Tamazula, Durango.
During the same operation—carried out by forces from the Mexican Army, the National Guard, and the Navy—high-powered weapons, explosives, magazines, and ammunition were seized, along with tactical gear. The confiscated items included a machine gun, 10 long guns of various calibers, and a handgun.
Among the detainees is Abel N, identified as “El Guano’s” right-hand man; and Eber Israel N, identified as the financial and logistical operator—responsible for the procurement of weaponry, drones, and explosives.
Also detained and identified was Etzair Lugo N, recognized as the group’s security chief and the alleged coordinator of clashes with rival organizations in the region, along with seven other alleged members of the criminal cell for whom no specific charges were detailed.
