The Mexico City Attorney General’s Office (FGJ CdMx) has arrested Nazaret ‘N’, a founding partner and CEO of the company MetaXChange, which is currently under investigation for fraud.
In connection with the same case, on March 2, investigative personnel initiated criminal proceedings—subject to precautionary measures—against Mariana ‘N’ and Patrick ‘N’, the latter of whom was ordered to be held in preventive detention.
MetaXChange is a company under investigation for an alleged Ponzi or pyramid scheme, linked to more than 120 formal complaints and involving financial losses exceeding 150 million pesos.
According to the company’s website, Nazaret ‘N’ served as a founding partner and CEO, boasting over 20 years of experience in the buying and selling of financial assets in international markets.
The private company was founded in Mexico City in 2012; its Board of Directors included Patrick ‘N’, who served as the Financial Controller.
The latter individual was formally charged due to his probable involvement in the crime of fraud, “to the detriment of 14 individuals and legal entities represented by this law firm, within the case publicly known as MetaXchange Capital.”
The document noted that the alleged scheme “could have resulted in financial losses exceeding 2.7 billion pesos and affected more than 1,500 victims nationwide,” while also citing the existence of “more than two hundred investigative files related to similar incidents.”
