Tabasco State Attorney General’s Office Issues Arrest Warrant Against Hernán Bermúdez Requena for Forced Disappearance

Authorities in Tabasco have issued 19 arrest warrants in connection with a case involving the forced disappearance of persons; among them is a warrant against Hernán Bermúdez Requena, the former head of the state’s Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC).

“The State Attorney General’s Office of Tabasco (FGET) reports that it has obtained and executed a new arrest warrant against Hernán ‘N’ for his alleged involvement in the crime of forced disappearance of persons,” reads a portion of the institution’s report, shared on March 30.

The arrest warrant against Tabasco’s former security chief has already been executed, as the individual was detained in September 2025 in Paraguay.

Regarding the case involving the 19 arrest warrants, 10 of the implicated individuals have already been formally charged and bound over for trial. Bermúdez Requena is under investigation for his alleged ties to the criminal group known as La Barredora—a faction linked to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG)—which the former security secretary allegedly led.
