Ahead of the World Cup, Mexico City’s Secretariat of Tourism unveiled “Xoli,” a bilingual chatbot accessible via WhatsApp. This tool is designed to provide information to the thousands of tourists expected to visit Mexico City during the global tournament.
Among the key features of “Xoli”—represented by a pink axolotl wearing a baseball cap and a camera around its neck, an image designed to resonate with visitors—are the following: guiding city visitors and providing them with information regarding transportation, gastronomy, culture, tourism, and details about the sporting event, among other topics.
The virtual assistant operates using a combination of decision-tree options and Artificial Intelligence, allowing users to engage in open-ended conversations or navigate the interface via an interactive menu.
Furthermore, it is capable of conducting conversations in both Spanish and English.
Xoli was developed by experts from the Digital Agency for Public Innovation (ADIP); to access the service, simply add the number 55 6565 9395 on WhatsApp.
