The Searching Mothers of Jalisco and Searching Mothers of Sonora publicly rejected information circulating on social media that attributes to them a supposed stance against releasing the remains of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias “El Mencho,” to his family. Both groups categorically disassociated themselves from these claims and denounced them as false content that does not represent their cause or principles.
In an official statement, Searching Mothers of Jalisco clarified that they have not requested or supported any action related to preventing the release of the alleged criminal leader’s body to his family. “We completely disassociate ourselves from any publication, position, or information disseminated by other groups or individuals outside our organization, which claims that we requested or support preventing the release of the body to the family of Mr. Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias El Mencho,” they stated.
The group emphasized that this stance is not only false, but also contradicts the central tenet of their movement, which is based on humanism, dignity, and justice. The mothers searching for their missing loved ones reiterated that their struggle is focused on locating missing persons and supporting families in the process of recovering their loved ones, without any discrimination.
