The head of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), Omar García Harfuch, confirmed the arrest of “El Mantecas” and stated that he was the leader of a faction of the Beltrán Leyva Cartel.
On his official Twitter account, he recalled that in a security operation, members of the National Guard, the Mexican Army and Air Force, with support from the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), arrested Iván Valerio “N,” alias “Mantecas,” in Badiraguato, Sinaloa.
He added that “he was apprehended along with seven members of his group, weapons, vehicles, and a synthetic drug production center. The investigation continues.”
