Gunmen stormed a rehabilitation center in San Felipe, Guanajuato, killing two people.

A terrifying early morning unfolded in the municipality of San Felipe, in northern Guanajuato state, after an armed group stormed a rehabilitation center, leaving two people dead and at least eight seriously wounded.

The attack took place in the early hours of Saturday at the annex known as “Los Marginados” (The Outcasts), located in the Aviación neighborhood of the municipal seat. According to preliminary reports, the building was breached by hooded individuals carrying high-powered weapons.

Witnesses and police sources indicated that the attackers forced their way into the facility. Once inside, they opened fire indiscriminately on the residents and staff present.

Fatalities: One man died instantly at the scene, while a second victim died minutes later while receiving medical attention at a local hospital.

Injured Persons: The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) confirmed that at least eight people sustained gunshot wounds.

Emergency Transport: The injured were escorted by security units to the San Felipe hospital to ensure their protection during medical treatment.

Following the report of the attack, a large contingent of Municipal Police and state forces was deployed, establishing a permanent security perimeter outside the hospital to prevent further violence.
