‘El Cubano,’ leader of a Sinaloa Cartel cell wanted by the FBI, arrested in Mazatlán

Daniel Alfredo ‘N,’ alias El Cubano, was arrested in Mazatlán, Sinaloa. He is identified as the leader of a Sinaloa Cartel cell and is wanted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

According to the Security Cabinet, El Cubano maintained an operational presence in Sinaloa and Chihuahua, and leads a criminal cell dedicated to the production and transportation of synthetic drugs to the United States, as well as money laundering for a criminal organization.

The investigation identified him as a financial operator responsible for money laundering operations.

“El Cubano” is considered a high-level target within the criminal structures linked to the Sinaloa Cartel, making his capture a significant blow to transnational drug trafficking and distribution networks, as well as the financial schemes that sustain them.

Daniel Alfredo ‘N’ was apprehended for extradition purposes on charges of organized crime and money laundering.

The detainee was informed of his constitutional rights and placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor. He was subsequently transferred to Mexico City to continue with the corresponding legal proceedings.

The arrest was carried out as part of ongoing efforts to maintain the rule of law in Sinaloa.

Members of the Mexican Navy (Semar), the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), and the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) participated in the operation, along with the Secretariat of National Defense (Defensa) and the National Guard (GN).
