The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) revealed that Canadian former Olympic athlete Ryan Wedding, who ran a cocaine trafficking network operating in Mexico, the US, and Canada, is protected by the Sinaloa Cartel.
Wedding, who competed in the 2002 Winter Olympics, is accused by the US Department of Justice and the Treasury Department of leading a criminal organization dedicated to drug trafficking, as well as being involved in several murders linked to his operations.
“Wedding collaborates closely with the Sinaloa Cartel, a foreign terrorist organization, to flood North America with cocaine from Colombia. His organization is responsible for trafficking approximately 60 tons of cocaine annually to Los Angeles via trucks coming from Mexico.
The prosecutor said at a press conference that the former athlete is also “accused of murdering a federal witness after an indictment in 2024. He used a Canadian website to post photos of witnesses and their families to locate them, which led to an attack.”
