Mexico’s Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), Omar García Harfuch, reported this Wednesday the arrest in Guanajuato of Genaro ‘N,’ alias ‘El Silencio’ and/or ‘El Manotas,’ who is a “priority target” of the Mexican government’s National Strategy against
Extortion after causing violence in the center and west of the country.
In a post on his X account, the head of the agency specified that the arrest took place in the municipality of Uriangato after being identified as a cause of violence in Michoacán and Guanajuato.
“He is linked to homicides, ATM robberies, and the deprivation of liberty of two @SSPCMexico agents, which occurred in Álvaro Obregón, Michoacán, on September 4,” the message posted on social media detailed. It added that Genaro ‘N’ has at least 10 investigation files for drug dealing, extortion, and aggravated homicide.
