Day Laborers Attacked on Michoacán-Jalisco Border with Drone-Delivered Bombs

A day’s work in the fields turned tragic when thugs threw explosive devices, or bombs, at a group of day laborers on the border between Jalisco and Buenavista, Michoacán.

The attack left a 15-year-old boy dead and two workers injured. The young man, identified as Jesús Macario Jiménez, was harvesting lemon trees in the area known as La Cueva, near the town of Corral de Piedra, when he was surprised by explosions in the midst of a violent clash between the United Cartels and the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).

Jesús Macario suffered serious injuries to his face and other parts of his body and sadly died aboard a van while being transported to Buenavista.

The body was taken to the Public Ministry facilities, where the State Attorney General’s Office conducted the corresponding investigation.

The other two injured day laborers, David C., 66, and Adolfo Michel M., 21, were rushed to IMSS Bienestar Hospital, where they are receiving medical attention.
