The investigation into the kidnapping and disappearance of five members of Grupo Fugitivo took a significant turn this week after the sole survivor, Carlos González, broke his silence and provided new evidence to continue the investigation against those possibly responsible for a case that shook both the entertainment industry and Tamaulipas society.

González, the group’s lead singer, was the only one spared prison, thanks to being delayed and unable to join his bandmates at the event they performed on May 25 in Reynosa.

Tamaulipas prosecutor Irving Barrios Mojica confirmed that the singer has already been interviewed and his statements are included in the investigation file, along with other testimonies gathered from the victims’ families. “He was interviewed, the videos were analyzed, and statements have been taken from all the people involved in the case. All are included in the lines of investigation,” Barrios Mojica stated in a meeting with the media in Ciudad Victoria.

In addition, the prosecutor reported that several meetings have been held with the victims’ families. This is in an effort to monitor both the legal proceedings and the search for evidence that may lead to the whereabouts of their children and siblings:
