Amidst the rise of official restrictions against corridos and amid the controversy that has engulfed figures such as Luis R. Conriquez and Los Alegres del Barranco—the latter recently prosecuted for projecting images of “El Mencho” during a show in Jalisco—singer Natanael Cano shared a series of stories on Instagram that once again put him at the center of controversy.
The images, shared through his official account, show the corrido singer lying down in a recording studio while working on a new song titled Cholo, allegedly in collaboration with composer Edgar Barrera, according to the information on the monitors.
But what has drawn the most attention is not the musical theme, which supposedly speaks of a life of excess, but the garment the “Madonna” singer is wearing: a pair of jeans printed with the faces of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán Loera and Pablo Escobar, two of the most notorious drug traffickers in Latin America.
