"It is time to have a Cultural Center worthy of Latinos"
The Latino community in California has been neglected for a long time. Representation in Hollywood and in major cultural spaces has been minimal. The approval and allocation for the SELA Cultural Center is a necessity to vindicate the contribution of Latino artists and an opportunity to dignify our community. We need a first-class space. We need your support in the execution of this project.
The vision of this project is to create a world-class, state-of-the-art cultural center and arts facility in the heart of Southeast Los Angeles, designed to showcase the region's cultural creativity and provide exceptional, globally-renowned arts programming. The SELA Cultural Center will provide untold opportunities to expand arts access, create workforce development, and provide outstanding educational opportunities for the people of Southeast LA, the city and county of Los Angeles, and the world beyond.
Our children and youth will benefit from classes, teachers, and artists who will be exemplary figures in our community. Let's demand the funds and support the proposal of Assemblyman Anthony Rendon. We, in the Southeast, deserve it; we are no less than the rest of the areas on the west side.
