The content creator Emerson Rey and his father were executed during the afternoon of Monday, September 14, 2026 outside their home, located in the town of Tenexpa, municipality of Tecpan de Galeana, in the Costa Grande region of Guerrero.
Local media reports indicated that the armed attack occurred at approximately 2:00 p.m., moments after both victims returned from carrying out a procedure at the headquarters of the Public Ministry Agency in the area.
After the attack, Emerson’s brother made a live broadcast through social networks from the scene of the crime to request assistance from emergency forces.
Likewise, the communicator’s brother released a recording in which he directly blamed two people, identified as Ignacio Navarrete and Mirna Navarrete, and demanded the prompt action of the justice institutions.
Elements from different security corporations went to the site to protect the scene, while the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Guerrero (FGE) issued an official statement confirming the double homicide and informing about the opening of the corresponding investigation file.
Emerson Rey was recognized on the Costa Grande for the production of digital content on the Facebook platform, focused on the coverage of sporting events, dissemination of community festivities and promotion of tourist routes in Tecpan de Galeana.
