The mother of the woman shot and killed by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent has been identified as Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old American.

Good was killed while agents were conducting an operation as part of President Donald Trump’s crackdown on immigration.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) had confirmed earlier that an ICE agent had killed a woman in Minneapolis, the capital of Minnesota, in what authorities described as self-defense.

The agent shot the woman in her vehicle in a residential neighborhood of Minneapolis. Video footage shows agents near the car as she reversed and then accelerated. The agent appeared to fire multiple shots.

According to the DHS, she was among several people who allegedly blocked the street with their vehicles to prevent the agents from passing.

The officers got out of the blocked SUV and ordered the woman to move her vehicle, at which point she drove toward one of the officers, pushing him with her car. As he turned toward the driver’s side window, she fired three shots at the car, as shown in footage from multiple angles. She was shot at least once in the head and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

“Violent rioter”

“One of these violent rioters armed her vehicle and attempted to run over our law enforcement officers with the intent to kill them, an act of domestic terrorism,” wrote DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin in X.

Good was publicly identified by her mother hours after she was shot and killed.

“Renee was one of the kindest people I have ever known,” said her mother, Donna Granger. “She was extremely compassionate. She’s cared for people her whole life. She was loving, understanding, and caring. She was an incredible human being.” “How stupid,” Granger said of her daughter’s death. “She was probably terrified.”

Good’s mother was baffled that she was involved in an ICE protest, stating that she “wasn’t part of anything like that.”

Local leaders made no secret of their outrage over the killing as footage began to circulate.

“ICE, get out of Minneapolis! We don’t want you here,” Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey declared during a heated press conference following the shooting. “Your stated reason for being in this city is to create some kind of security, and you’re doing the exact opposite,” he mocked.
