The security strategy in Chiapas has entered a new phase to locate Juan Manuel Valdovinos Mendoza, known as the Lord of the Horses, by air.

A video circulated on social media shows members of the Pakal Immediate Reaction Force (FRIP) firing from a Black Hawk helicopter over a jungle area, allegedly during an armed blockade on Monday, triggered by what was believed to be an attempt to capture this criminal leader in Chiapas.

This is the first time the FRIP has been seen using aircraft in a real operation.

The scene reflects the shift toward aerial operations promoted by the state government since the beginning of the year, following the acquisition of a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter and the integration of a military technology package valued at more than $20 million, which includes armed drones and a robotic dog.

That same Monday, the actions focused on the municipalities of Jiquipilas, Cintalapa de Figueroa, and Arriaga, with reinforcements on sections of roads.
