The department of Antioquia is in deep pain after the confirmation of tragic news. This is the discovery of the lifeless body of the girl Michelle Dayana Chavarría, only 6 years old, who was missing for eight days in the municipality of Buriticá.
According to the authorities, the discovery of the body occurred approximately between 3:30 and 4:00 in the afternoon on Monday, August 31. It was a farmer, who was carrying out inspection work on the farm where he works, who spotted the presence of buzzards, which caught his attention. Upon approaching the scene, he confirmed the presence of a highly decomposed human body.
The worker immediately notified the firefighters, who coordinated the arrival of the National Police and the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) to carry out the inspection and recovery of the body. The body was located about 4 kilometers away from the municipality of Buriticá, where the girl lived with her family and from where she had been lost last Monday, August 24, in the afternoon.
Colonel Luis Fernando Muñoz, commander of the Police of the department of Antioquia, in dialogue with Noticias Caracol, provided the first details and investigative lines about the case. One of them was identification by clothing. Although the exact causes of death have yet to be established, a red blouse that the minor was wearing on the day of her disappearance was found at the scene, fully matching the physical description previously provided by her family. The body has already been transferred to the city of Medellín so that the Institute of Legal Medicine can carry out the corresponding technical analysis.
