This Sunday, March 15, during the Liga Premier MX (Second Division) match between Guerreros de Autlán and Los Cabos United, held in Autlán de Navarro, Jalisco, an incident occurred in which Mayor Gustavo Robles Martínez (PRI), a man colluding with the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), along with his bodyguards and Chief of Staff Arturo Eleuterio Vera Rodríguez, invaded the field at the end of the match.
They verbally and physically assaulted the refereeing team, led by head referee Alan Eduardo Contreras. They also insulted and threatened the referees. It is reported that the referees were prevented from leaving the field.
In the case of the chief of staff, they report that he entered the locker room to threaten them, saying that “things would go badly for them” if they supposedly reported the incident. This individual told them the following: “You better not report anything on the ID card because we already have you located; I know where you live and I’ll go and kick you out of your houses, you bastards.”
