Violent Weekend in Sinaloa: Human Remains Found in Coolers and Narco-Message in Two Municipalities

Written by Parriva — July 5, 2025

Three human heads and dismembered remains, accompanied by a message, appeared on the afternoon of Friday, July 4th, near Villa Ángel Flores “La Palma,” in the municipality of Navolato. The discovery, which included three heads and human remains placed in plastic boxes and a blue drum with a cardboard box containing a narco-message, was reported by local residents who alerted authorities through the 911 emergency line.

Shortly before 5:00 p.m., residents reported the presence of three human heads placed on two work boxes, one with a yellow lid and the other with a blue lid, on the side of the lane connecting La Palma with Tamarindo, on the San Blas overpass.
Two of the heads were in the blue box and the third on the yellow one. Between the two was a blue plastic drum bearing a recorded message.

The remains were not blocking vehicular traffic, but security authorities cordoned off the area and closed the bridge while they deployed a surveillance operation.

The State Attorney General’s Office mobilized its forensic experts to conduct field investigations and transport the heads to the Forensic Medical Service, where DNA testing will be performed to identify the victims. This discovery adds to a series of violent incidents reported in the region in recent hours.
