The head of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), Omar García Harfuch, announced the arrest of two men for their alleged involvement in the murder of Uruapan Mayor Carlos Manzo.
The men are Samuel “N” and Josué Elogio “N,” the latter nicknamed “Viejito” (Little Old Man), who were arrested in operations carried out on January 8 and 9. Samuel “N” served as Director of Public Relations and Protocol and has a criminal record for assault and robbery.
Elogio “N” worked as a taxi driver. The arrests were announced by the official at a press conference on January 11.
Following the arrests, three search warrants were executed in connection with the detainees, resulting in the seizure of drugs and communications equipment.
