Héctor Méndez Rosales, known as “Topo Mayor” (Head Mole), expressed his outrage during rescue operations in La Guaira, Venezuela, after a local television presenter tried to force him to follow a script for political purposes. The rescue leader rejected the imposition, making it clear that his work is not affiliated with any political party or ideology.
The incident was recounted by the founder of the “Los Topos Azteca” (The Aztec Moles) brigade to the media outlet Sports Venezuela. According to Méndez Rosales, also known as “El Chino” (The Chinaman), a local reporter approached him with a specific instruction: “You have to say this, and thank your president (Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo).”
The request sparked the anger of the experienced rescuer, who admitted to reacting angrily and telling her to “go to hell.” Later, Méndez addressed the reporter’s boss to explain what had happened and express his strong disapproval of the manipulation:
“Excuse me, but I mistreated this stupid woman. How dare she tell some old man what to say? What the hell is wrong with her? I’m sorry, but I mistreated her,” emphasizing that her work in the area was rescue-related.
