Valeria Márquez, a 23-year-old woman, was murdered in an armed attack on the afternoon of May 13 at a beauty salon located in western Zapopan, Jalisco.
According to the State Attorney General’s Office, the murder, which is being investigated under the femicide protocol, took place around 6:30 p.m. at an establishment located on Avenida Servidor Público, in the Real del Carmen neighborhood.
According to initial reports, a man entered the establishment and allegedly shot the victim, who died at the scene.
Municipal Police officers responded after receiving the call through the 911 emergency service, confirming the death. Paramedics who also arrived at the scene confirmed that the woman no longer showed vital signs.
