Tijuana singer Hugo Vidal, 49, and his wife Janeth Navarro, 47, were found dead inside their home in the La Ermita neighborhood of Tijuana.
According to unofficial sources, the preliminary cause of death was carbon monoxide poisoning. However, no official report confirming the circumstances of their deaths has yet been released.
The discovery was made on Wednesday night, December 17, around 7:48 p.m., at a residence located between Alicia María and Nicolás Bravo streets. According to initial reports, a relative of Janeth Navarro went to the home and, receiving no answer, forced entry and found the couple unconscious.
The relative then notified emergency services. Red Cross paramedics arrived at the scene and confirmed that both individuals had no vital signs.
Hugo Vidal was a well-known figure in the local music scene, distinguished by sharing the stage with nationally renowned artists like José José, and maintaining a constant presence in various bars and venues throughout the city, where he developed much of his artistic career.
The news has generated dismay among musicians, cultural promoters, and fans of the singer, who have begun expressing their condolences on social media.
