Three people—a man, a woman, and a minor—were arrested in Tijuana on September 30 after being identified as suspected of being involved in an attempted murder. They fired at least nine shots at a professional on Bahía San Sebastián Street in the Playas de Tijuana municipal district.
According to the official report from authorities, the police intervention was activated after officers spotted a black Jeep Liberty, which had been reported minutes earlier for possible involvement in an armed attack in the El Mirador neighborhood. After signaling the vehicle’s stop and explaining the reason for the stop to the occupants, the officers conducted a preventive search of the vehicle.
During the inspection by the Municipal Police, in coordination with the Municipal Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPCM), they found a substance that, according to authorities, is classified as prohibited.
The detainees, preliminarily identified as Luis “N” (a minor), Mario Emerzon “N,” and Kasandra “N,” had physical characteristics and clothing that matched those of the alleged perpetrators of the attempted murder that occurred that same day in El Mirador.
The coincidence of information gathered at the scene of the attack and the information obtained during the operation made it possible to link the three occupants of the vehicle to the crime and initiate the respective judicial proceedings.
