In yet another case of what is known as a blind mule, a woman reported that three Chinese women hid in the trunk of her compact car in an attempt to illegally enter the United States.
The incident occurred on October 10 at the Otay border crossing in Tijuana, Baja California, when a Mexican citizen was entering the Ready Lane to cross into the United States.
However, upon hearing a series of unusual noises, she decided to pull over and ask for help from the Tijuana Municipal Police officers who are usually on-site to respond to any eventuality.
The officers found Li Lan “N,” 38, and Li Xue “N” and Xia Xianxiu “N,” 50, all Chinese nationals, hiding in the small trunk of the Subaru, attempting to cross the border.
After confirming that they had no relationship with the driver, the Chinese citizens were brought before agents of the Attorney General’s Office and referred to immigration authorities.
Meanwhile, the Tijuana Municipal Police recommended that citizens conduct thorough vehicle inspections to avoid unwittingly bringing people or drugs into the United States.
