On Monday, September 29, several threatening messages were found in Chihuahua alleging an alleged alliance between a local criminal group and one of the Sinaloa Cartel factions.
The material found in Cuauhtémoc indicates that the group known as Gente Nueva del Tigre and the faction formerly led by Ismael El Mayo Zambada, now affiliated with Ismael Zambada Sicairos, alias Mayito Flaco, are involved.
Local media reports indicate that Gente Nueva del Tigre has a presence in western Chihuahua. Authorities’ records show the arrests of several individuals linked to the local group since at least 2021, when Jesús Omar C. G., alias La Changa, considered second-in-command of the Gente Nueva de El Tigre criminal organization, was captured.
The Chihuahua media outlet El Heraldo, citing sources from the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), indicates that the criminal structure is allegedly led by an individual identified as Esgar Alfredo G.S., alias El Tigre Blanco and/or El 11.
