“They murdered our youth”: Gustavo Petro after Colombian singers found dead in Mexico

Colombian President Gustavo Petro reacted after the deaths of singers Bayron Sánchez Salazar, B-King, and Jorge Luis Herrera Lemos, DJ Regio Clown, were confirmed. They were found in the State of Mexico on Monday, September 22.

“They murdered our youth in the United States of Mexico—our youth. More young people murdered by an anti-drug policy that is not an anti-drug trafficking policy,” he wrote on his X account.
Gustavo Petro considered that international mafias are strengthened by a military policy that he described as “stupid.”

For Petro, this policy is prohibitionist and directly affects humanity and Latin America, under the pretext of being a strategy to curb drug trafficking.

It’s worth remembering that on Sunday, September 21, Petro asked his Mexican counterpart, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, for her cooperation in finding the Colombian singers.

Since yesterday, the Colombian president has considered that those responsible for the disappearance of the artists may be the multinational mafias that are growing on the continent due to rampant drug use in the United States.
