Nelson Arturo Echezuria, alias “Nelson,” the leader of the Tren de Aragua criminal group in Mexico, was arrested along with two of his collaborators in Mexico City following surveillance efforts by federal and state authorities, the capital’s police, and the Armed Forces.
Intelligence efforts identified Nelson Arturo “N” as the criminal leader in Mexico City, responsible for human trafficking, drug trafficking, homicide, kidnapping, and extortion.
His arrest resulted from surveillance efforts on the criminal leader in various states and municipalities until he was located in the capital during security patrols.
Since he did not pose a risk to the public, officers proceeded with his arrest and that of his companions. Information obtained by Infobae Mexico indicates that the two remaining individuals are identified as Lucas Alberto “V,” 37 years old, alleged right-hand man of “Nelson,” and Marcos Gabriel “O,” alleged direct collaborator of the criminal organization.
During the inspection conducted by agents, 92 doses of marijuana, 44 doses of crystal meth, 18 doses of crack cocaine, two cell phones, cash, as well as other items related to the investigation were seized.
Information obtained by this publishing house indicates that the three detainees are Venezuelan nationals and are linked to drug dealing, homicide, kidnapping, extortion, and human trafficking.
“Nelson,” Lucas Alberto “V,” and Marcos Gabriel “O” operated in the states of Puebla, Morelos, the State of Mexico, and various municipalities in Mexico City.
According to the U.S. State Department, the leader of this criminal organization is identified as Héctor Rusthenford Guerrero Flores, alias “Niño Guerrero,” who led the group from a prison gang dedicated to extortion and bribery in Aragua, Venezuela, to become a transnational organization dedicated to illegal mining, kidnapping, human trafficking, extortion, and drug trafficking.
