The president of Venezuela’s illegitimate National Assembly, Chavista Jorge RodrÃguez, threatened this Wednesday any foreign citizens who attempt to enter Venezuela without authorization from the regime. In a televised speech, he warned that those who cross the border without the proper approval will be considered “enemies” and will face the consequences.
“Any foreigner who attempts to enter Venezuela illegally will be treated as an enemy of the homeland,” declared RodrÃguez, a close ally of dictator Nicolás Maduro.
The Chavista official did not offer details about the control mechanisms the regime will implement, but insisted that drastic measures will be applied.
“We will not allow anyone to enter our territory without authorization, because we will know how to respond,” he stated.
RodrÃguez’s statements come amid increasing international pressure on Nicolás Maduro’s dictatorship, after the United States government announced the deployment of warships off the Venezuelan coast as part of its operations against narcoterrorism. These actions seek to confront Latin American criminal organizations, including the Cartel of the Suns, whose leadership has been attributed to Maduro himself.
