Agents of the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM), with support from the Mexican Navy (Semar) and the Ecatepec Municipal Police, arrested Juan Manuel “N,” alias “El Maya,” who is identified as the alleged leader of a criminal organization operating under the name “Somos Mayas, Somos Fuertes” and/or “Los Mayas” in the State of Mexico.
The arrest was made as part of the coordinated actions of the second phase of Operation Caudal, where “El Maya” was identified as a high-priority target.

During the operation carried out in the municipality of Ecatepec, agents seized the following items:
The gang allegedly led by “El Maya” illegally operated a water truck distribution network in Acolman, Coacalco, and Ecatepec, municipalities where access to water is frequently disrupted.
