The life of Jorge Humberto Figueroa Benítez, alias La Perris or El 27, was marked by betrayal. In the world of drug trafficking, where loyalties are tactical and temporary, he knew how to move between factions of the Sinaloa Cartel, changing sides as power rose and abandoning those who fell.
La Perris began her career in drug trafficking as a member of the Dámaso faction, under the command of Dámaso López Núñez and his son, Dámaso López Serrano, alias Mini Lic. However, when that faction was displaced by the sons of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, La
Perris switched loyalties and joined the Los Chapitos faction, aligning herself with Néstor Isidro Pérez Salas, alias “El Nini,” as part of the armed wing known as “Los Ninis.”
This change of allegiance was publicly confirmed in a video circulating on social media, in which La Perris appears alongside El Nini and El Piyi listening to music and mocking Mini Lic, who was already a DEA collaborator at the time.
