The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) announced a mega-transnational operation that resulted in the arrest of 670 members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), considered by the agency to be “one of the most violent and prolific criminal organizations in the world.” The Juárez Cartel
The operation took place from September 22 to 26, 2025, and involved DEA personnel in 23 domestic field divisions and seven foreign regions, demonstrating the breadth of the CJNG’s criminal network.
“The CJNG is being attacked for what it is: a terrorist organization, at every level, from its leaders to its distribution networks and everyone in between,” stated DEA Administrator Terrance Cole.
As a result of this coordinated action, the DEA announced the seizure of a massive arsenal of drugs and a massive amount of financial assets:

92.4 kilograms of fentanyl powder,
1,157,672 counterfeit pills,
6,062 kilograms of methamphetamine,
22,842 kilograms of cocaine,
33 kilograms of heroin,
Currency Seizures: $18,644,105

The DEA emphasized that the CJNG operates globally, with tens of thousands of members, associates, and facilitators in at least 40 countries. The agency noted that the cartel is directly responsible for the production, manufacturing, and distribution of synthetic drugs, as well as the violence and corruption inherent in its operations.
