The body of Tayron Paredes Gamboa, a Venezuelan delivery driver who disappeared and was found dead in the State of Mexico, remains in the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) and has not yet been repatriated to his country, where his family awaits his burial.

On September 29, 2025, the DiDi driver went to the municipality of Huehuetoca to make a delivery. From there, he sent his location and spoke with his sister, telling her that the road was just mountains and that he would turn back. Nothing was heard from him until he was found dead.

According to reports from Daniela Paredes, the victim’s sister, the 27-year-old was an athlete and worked as a food delivery driver for the DiDi platform on an Italika motorcycle he had purchased.

The woman said that after her brother was found dead in Coyotepec and taken to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) in Cuautitlán Izcalli, they have been denied the release of his body.

She stated that they have gone to almost every immigration-related institution and have complied with all the requirements of the Attorney General’s Office (FGJ) of the State of Mexico, but they have refused to release the necessary documentation for his release.

The body remains at the Semefo, where, according to his sister, it is deteriorating daily. She blames the FGJ staff for being inhumane and indifferent to the situation.

Groups demand justice in the case. Because of this, the organization Lirios Buscadores Izcalli, which searches for missing persons, issued a statement expressing its outrage and grief over the case of Tayron Paderes Gamboa.

The statement adds that Tayron’s body remained unidentified at the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) for four months, despite an active missing person report.

Thanks to pressure from several civil society organizations, authorities allowed a family member of Tayron’s family access to identify him.

The organizations denounced the unjustified delay in releasing Tayron Paredes Gamboa’s body to his family and accused Leonardo Ávila Hernández, the official in charge of the case from the Homicide Department, of refusing to issue the necessary permit that would allow the body to be transferred to a funeral home.

They explained that this is a simple administrative procedure being used as an obstacle to releasing the body.

“While this document remains unissued, Tayron’s body continues to decompose, denying his family the most basic right: to say goodbye, give him a dignified burial, and have a place to mourn him, visit him, and bring him flowers.” In response, the groups demanded the immediate issuance of the necessary permit for the release of Tayron Paderes Gamboa’s body, an end to the bureaucratic practices that revictimize families, and dignified, humane, and respectful treatment for victims and their loved ones, regardless of nationality.

They also called for the solidarity of civil society to disseminate this statement and raise awareness of the injustice Tayron’s family is currently facing.
